What Students are Saying

Like most people with math, I'm no good at language. I've always been acutely embarrassed at my efforts in foreign languages. My lack of knowledge, fluffed attempts at pronunciation and forgetting what I thought I'd learned have all conspired to block me. I never manage it.
With Darcie it's different; you leave your inhibitions and negativeness at the door. Classmates are smiling and happy, explanations concise and to the point, pace and content are skillfully tailored to the class and suddenly you realize 'Bueno!' learning has taken place!
Or - shorter version:
Energy. Darcie exudes it. You leave your inhibitions and negativeness at the door. Classmates are smiling and happy, explanations concise and to the point, pace and content are skillfully tailored to the class and you realize 'Bueno!' learning has taken place!

With great pleasure do I offer an invitation to anyone interested in learning Spanish from Profe Darcie, DO IT !!!!!
I had the opportunity to take early conversational Spanish in 4th grade, then a semester at UC Berkeley, many years ago. Darcie makes Spanish fun. She is famous for her intense style, her use of training aids, assigning tons of homework and staying on track. Her class techniques are entertaining, dramatic, unique and spontaneous. Darcie interacts with each student individually since she has an uncanny knack for getting to know the learning curve of her individual and collective students, and she creates an open environment in class for sharing, blurting out right and wrong Spanish in orderly or tumbled fashion, and never embarrassing the student.
I took Beginning Spanish from Darcie 5 years ago at Cerro Coso Community College here in Bishop and didn't give it the effort, time or concentration to really benefit myself. Since I volunteer as a Latin teacher in Bishop for high school students and others, and the only foreign language offered in BUHS is Spanish, I decided to review / refresh Spanish with Darcie again as a means to getting Latin across to my students by using Spanish , for the grammar and vocabulary etymology and similarities with Romance languages. The decision has been of great personal benefit as well as getting my students to understand their Spanish and Latin and English better!
I recommend C101 Spanish at Coso with Darcie, and if just a conversational Spanish series with Darcie is what you choose, you'll be better with Spanish no matter what! The mixture of students is great, the enthusiasm contagious, and the classroom friendships endure. You'll sing, you'll laugh, you'll learn!
Long live the Darcie!
